With its mature tree-lined fairways and smooth putting surfaces, The Oak Club of Genoa has proved to be one of Chicagoland’s best kept secrets for nearly 35 years. Since it’s construction, The Oak Club has received a number of acclamations including being named one of the “Top 25 Courses in the Chicagoland” by the CDGA, which ranked it among top rated courses such as Rich Harvest Farms, Medinah Country Club, Olympia Fields, and Bull Valley Golf Club.
The Oak Club was designed and constructed in 1973 by the famous Illinois Golf Architect and Illinois hall of fame member, Charles Maddox, Sr. Maddox was an apprentice to the great architect Robert Bruce Harris, however soon began laying out courses of his own. All in all, Maddox has constructed or reconstructed over 40 golf courses in Illinois, including Silver Lake Golf Course, River Forest Country Club, Stonehenge Golf Club, Glen Eagles Country Club and Forest Hills Country Club in Rockford.
In addition to our brand new 100 yard wedge area we will be redesigning a few holes on the golf course and adding a new driving range. These changes will bring the total back tee yardage to 7200 yards keeping the course among the elite courses in the Chicago area.
The Oak Club not only boasts an outstanding golf track, but a full service banquet hall, bar, and a fully stocked pro shop as well. The Oak Club of Genoa has been a gem of Northern Illinois for over 3 decades and only plans to improve. Come out and enjoy The Oak Club.
